Beastly torque curve! One that likely won't let that m46 last too long once you start playing with it regularly.17 pounds
gorgeous 242, is there anywhere you can still find those 80's rear window slits/shades?
Beastly torque curve! One that likely won't let that m46 last too long once you start playing with it regularly. What camshaft? T? Swapping to something larger will likely lower the torque a bit(easier on the driveline, etc.) but allow it to carry out further creating more peak hp and a more fun rush to 6k+. Then again, you'll loose some efficiency and the ability to just roll on it and fly past whatever you're next to.
Nice numbers! 230whp at only 4800 rpm is beefy.
Actually, I think a cam swap would make the car easier on your transmission. Torque is what kills things, and if you have a more aggressive camshaft it'll reduce the dynamic compression and your torque PEAK will likely lower some. T cams are torque monsters, but don't have any power up top. Then again, an IPD Turbo cam in your car with the boost set at 15psi would likely make more hp and pull to redline, but the torque peak could be lowered some. It's a T cam. I'll get an IPD or RSI cam in there at some point, but like you said, especially after seeing those numbers, I need to get a T5 behind it before I do any more engine mods. The low end torque is kinda cool, but I'd rather move it up in the 4k to 5k range for a little more thrill.
