So I recently joined the board, and I'd thought I'd share my plans and progress on my latest project.
I was searching for a long time for a 142 because I just think they have so much potential to be an awesome little sleeper car. I picked up the car from a guy on CL in San Francisco, was his daily driver for quite some time. I can't remember now, but I think I paid around 2G for it. hmm, many beers ago.
My plans for this vehicle were far from stock, and given no smog required, I can do whatever I want! I was originally planning to race the car, but after reading over pages and pages and pages of rules and regs, I decided that sounded like no fun whatsoever, and wanted to do what I needed to do.
Untouched as I bought it:
It had these in the trunk, looking all crappy because someone rattle canned them black. Had them blasted here locally, and then painted them and baked the gold engine paint on, along with clear. Rikens, they are light!
Livermore heat comes in handy in the metal shed
engine bay..duh
time for a shave
made adjustable panhard from left over rockcrawler parts, and adjustable coils in the rear
wheel spacers 15mm front, 30mm rear
The donor '93 940 turbo
stay tuned!
