Searched to no avail.

1987 745, 4-headlight setup. Low beams do not work unless high beams are on, then all 4 work.

Is there a relay that controls that operation, or could it have something to do with my stalk switch?

Thanks.

The second relay from left to right in the front row marked K in the fuse/relay panel. When it fails, you get exactly what your car is doing.

*THANK YOU*... :oogle:
YEAR
MODEL
(in this case) SYSTEM

SOOOO EASY to help when ALL THE INFO IS PRESENTED
you even got the CORRECT POSITION for the "problem child" due to
inclusion of all the pertinent info...

HUZZAH...the *system* works.....
RIGHT DAD??

Right on.

Thanks Fellas, ordered a new relay. Should have it and a new fuseblock today.

Why a new fuseblock? Fuseblock has a couple pretty burned/melted positions - heater motor and fuel pump more specifically, might as well replace it while I'm in there...

PS, yes 'Mick, the system does work ;-) Thanks again.

Replaced the "K" relay yesterday, problem remains.

The only other thing that my Gov't trained brain can come up with is the stalk switch. Any logic to that? Leaning toward that not only because of its' function in that operation, but putting more pieces of the puzzle together it occurs to me that my cruise control ceased functioning a few weeks / months ago. Not that the two systems are linked, but rather that the cruise is switched through the stalk as well...

Anything else in that circuit which I may be overlooking?

Thanks.

Lights all work, have for some time. Sorry to have dropped the ball and left this thread open. Ended up replacing the stalk, relay, fuseblock and bulbs. Now, nearly a year later I can't remember which one thing it was that solved the problem. I can tell you, that since converting over to the Hella H4 setup night driving is a lot nicer on these old eyes.

'Mick, just a few weeks ago I traded the '73 CH for a '75 MG B for the Wifey. She loves it. Heading out to Ohio to grab a sweet little '75 FLHP we bought a couple weeks ago with only 19,000mi on her. Love those Shovels...
