m47 mount options

Planning on putting in an IPD order soon for all of the parts I'm missing to manual swap my car, but before I put in the order, I want to make sure I'm buying the right mount. I've heard that the 160 mount works on the m47 and is slightly stiffer so therefore it lasts longer, but I want to know just how much stiffer it really is. The car is my daily, so I still want comfort to be of somewhat priority, but I also want my parts to last, and finding that balance is difficult. So, do I seek out the 160 mount, or do I just buy the "OES" mount that IPD sells? An OEM type replacement and the 160 mount are the only options I know of so, if there are others, please let me know as well.

THe stock 240 m47 cross member has rubber isolation washers at the four frame rail mounting points. Is that what your using? I've got a RSI poly m47 mount and some other poly m47 mount from UK. They are rectangular like the stock one. I think a round mount also works.

Stock M47 mounts seem to last a long time. I never broke one even when I broke motor mounts. I'd keep using it rather than replace it with something stiffer.

What the stock rubber ones do is start to droop and then your drive line angle goes off and you can get some vibrations. Other thing is the shifter position moves down and back some. Might take 20 years. I've never broke one either.

I was going to mention that the 2pc driveshaft does a pretty good job of masking a parallelogrammed trans mount (y)

I just checked pics...I sheared both engine mounts at an autocross in 2009 and twisted the engine around so much it dented the oil pan against the motor mount bracket. M47 trans mount survived... (I didn't do the T5 swap til the following year.)

Did that RSI mount create any angle issues with the drivetrain? I am wrapping up a aw70 to m47 swap and it came with an RSI mount. The tail of the trans seems really high...harness for the reverse sensor is nearly touching the trans tunnel and my shifter position is close to the dash in 1-3-5. I suspect it's the mount as everything else is standard Volvo stuff.
