So I am doing 4cl t5 swap and have gone through the process of taking down the input shaft bearing retainer so that the deeworks kit and the bellhousing have enough clearance, however I have in the process accidentally taken down the input shaft bearing retainer’s sleeve to the point where it does not make contact with the deeworks sleeve that slides into the m46 bellhousing.
Is this an issue, does the shim mounted on the bellhosing have to have pressure from the transmission?
The deeworks shim doesn’t quite slide into the stock spot and needs to be taken down a little bit to fit the same way the stock Volvo one does.
Now I can imagine that if there was excessive play with the shim that would be a problem, but if it were snug in the mounting spot would that be a problem?
Thanks
