I'm no grill master, but especially since the 'couch/tent' crew like myself are leeching, I figured I could bring some meat in a cooler to be cooked.

I certainly wouldn't complain if more food showed up.

beer, meat, that sorta thing.

I'm going to sit down in a day or two and make an itemized list of **** and start getting things prep'd

Awesome.

Wren is bringing breakfast stuff, but if everyone else wants to list out what they're bringing, that would be immensely helpful.

I've got 2 pork shoulders, both about 18lbs, and I think a butt or two in the freezer. I've got to take inventory tonight or tomorrow.

Edit// I also have a coworker that's a cooler nerd, so that eliminates the issue of not being able to keep ice for a few days at a time. Take from that information what you will.

I'm going to be bringing lots of craft brews and I can also bring some chips, salsa, that kind of ****. Do we need bread? I could probably pitch for some of that also.

I'll bring a few growlers of craft beer, some snack type stuff. I'm assuming I can drop some $$ in a jar for the meats.

I can bring some **** to roll out pancakes if need be. Jared was working out how to get/fab a griddle for the bigass grill.

Kenny makes some jam-up pancakes.

You guys who don't cook can't go wrong bringing bacon, sausage, eggs, and that sort of stuff for breakfast. I'm bringing a bunch of biscuits and will get a bag of locally-ground grits from the mill here.

God damn over achiever.

There is going to be some sort of jar for food payment, yes? I want to make sure I don't eat for free.

Yeah, there will be something.

I like Mr. Bill's idea...for those who aren't paying for beds, bring something to eat. I'll split the money from the jar up among those of us who have laid out money to pull this off.

I'm about to wreck this thread with logic and planning (damn this maturity ****)

Please do.

Edit// Here's the start of a list.

Me: 7 lbs of pork shoulder, 20ish lbs of butt (on sale this week), 13ish lb turkey, firewood, griddle setup, beer, ice, huge cooler. Will bring hammocks and a large tent as well. The tent can remain packed up unless someone needs a place to sleep.

Wren: Biscuits and assorted breakfast stuffs.

MikeJr: Plates/napkins/utensils

Needed: Bacon, eggs, breakfast sausage, potatoes, beans (canned baked beans or green beans...get industrial sized cans), corn, chips/salsa/whatever, plates, utensils, ground beef, hot dogs, sodas for those not drinking, bread and buns.

When you choose something, remember that we're feeding 20ish people for essentially 2 days.

clothes, pillow, blanket(?)
Sharpie "for Mr Bill"
Auburn 'Dock kit' "for the mustang"
5 gallon auxillary gas jug (v8's are thirsty)
stainless sheet for the big grill? (gotta read on this yet?)
Fishin' poles and tackle (aka, m80's)

TV and HD antenna (FOOZEBALL!)
Frisbee
football?

Generic goodie list:
beer!
self-rising flour
milk
eggs
veggie oil
sugar
butter(~2-3lbs yall reckon?)
garlic powder
garlic salt
salt
pepper
paprika
chilli powder
ancho powder passilla powder
cajun seasoning
onion powder

coke(or dr pepper)
ghost/reaper peppers?
ketchup
vinegar
lemons
other seasonin's
worcestershire (wooostershire-fu<v>ckin' yankees) sauce
hot sauce
medium sized pot
large pot?
medium/large pan
aluminium pans(like, roasting pans or turkey pans or whatever)
aluminium foil
paper plates
paper towels
trash bags
buns (dogs and burgers)
bread (make garlic bread? Italian loafs work well for this)
chips
dips

On the food side, lets do a little campaign planning to narrow some of this down i.e. let's set a menu-of sorts- and focus in on that.

We've talked about smoking ass, that's fine, we'll need to pretty much unpack and start the egg friday then, or do something that won't take 18-20 hours for friday night. There has been talk about smoking a bird, this is fine, we can also obviously do burgers/dogs/sausage/steak/chitlins on the grill itself. What would we want along with (sides wise)? I'm assuming bbq sauce for the ass, could make the same stuff for the bird or could procure some "white sauce". A neat side-effect of smoking a turkey is soup can be made concurrently if anyone is into that, just need some extra veggies and some stock in an aluminium pan.

baked/bbq beans? (if so, can doctor them up as well) Mashed tatters? We'll have a fair amount of "down time", so a sack of potatoes will go a long way and not taste like particleboard ****. Mac & cheese? (I can bring the dutch oven if need be as well) salad?
Figure on burgers and such for lunch saturday, so buns in large quantities will likely be needed.

If folks is bringin' stuff that is currently frozen in the ol deep freeze, it would be a great idea if it came out no later than say teusday. large things don't thaw fast, not even in coolers going down the interstate.

There we go.

Proposed menu:

Thursday dinner: Those of us that are there will fend for ourselves. Probably sandwiches, pasta salad that can be made a few days before, etc. I can pack all that on ice. No worries there.

Friday breakfast: scrambled eggs, whatever breakfast meat we have, hash browns.

Friday lunch: My burgers, dogs, beans, chips

Friday dinner: My burgers, dogs, beans, chips, salad, things people can graze on while arriving.

Saturday Breakfast: Eggs, bacon/sausage, pancakes.

Saturday Lunch: Burgers, dogs, snacks, etc. This will likely be a smaller meal since I know a fair number of you expect to be out driving during the day.

Saturday dinner. The big show: Smoked ass, bird (can be cooked in the oven to free up egg space), potatoes, corn, beans (green or baked), salad, libations

Sunday breakfast: Eggs and whatever's left meat wise.

No sunday lunch, because we have to have the place cleaned up and out the door at 11am.

I've also got 3x fishing rods, and I'll bring the canoe as well. If you plan on fishing, you might want to purchase a temporary NC fishing license. I'll leave that up to you on how strictly legal you want to be.

I still need to do water pump / tbelt / tensioner / oil change, and now probably going to throw some new rotors on the front to get the shaking to stop.

I'm still planning to be there, even if I have to ride w/Alden. Or mikeP. Or Ian.

Also, I have to go so I can pick up hockey's old intercooler.

*like*

I was thinking I'd bring lots o **** for todd burgers? 25lbs or so of ground beef and associated seasonings?

If you wanted to handle ground beef, that'll be great. We'll have a GantBurger/ToddBurger face off.

I need Honey and Heinz 57 for my burgers. I think cheese was sorely missing from our lists.

Ian, wanna grab some cheese for burgers too?
