What did I miss?
Hello Guest, welcome to the initial stages of our new platform!
You can find some additional information about where we are in the process of migrating the board and setting up our new software here
Thank you for being a part of our community!
This is ideal but not everyone has access to a dyno even if you do, its best to get your car running as good as you can so you don't waste$$Tune it on a dyno. I have 10,000 race miles on my B230FT with microsquirt. No knock, even in 110 degree heat.
I agree idk why the aftermarket community is so set on knock detection some setups costing 1000$+. I wish tuning spark with a pressure sensor was more accessible. That being said I think of knock as kinda like an idiot light but certainly not a tuning tool.curiously here 22 years into the whole volvo tuning and chill as a long time advocate for high compression turbo setups... I don't have a problem with this so I'll say it louder for the people that can't comprehend it:
if you're tuning a modified engine with some random aftermarket knock sensor setup, you're stupid.
Lol, from an IO standpoint I think you're wrong. From a software standpoint you're arguably correctStill not as good as a maxxecu mini.
It will never measure up to a current gen maxxecu mini in terms of basic functionality, ever. there is no comparison. The software, the ECU performance , and the capabilities can and will make up for any lack of I/O the current maxxecu generation lacks (add some cheap I/O Expansion with a MCE18) (until the next generation comes out). I'd never suffer any megasquirt ever again, and no one will ever convince me to do so either.
Can you hook up a Ms3 and have bmw/dodge 8hp/DCTgen1/2 transmission control? Can you address any table and any axis to any parameter up to 32x32? Does MS3 support many modern vehicle chassis CAN-Bus systems enabling OEM ecu removal? do you have a bunch of math channels and user tables for advanced strategies? how's resolution for deadtimes? Can you address any CAN bit state to an actual input or output? does your deadtime table still exist in percentages?Care to elaborate on how it doesn’t measure up? What are we talking about? What capabilities? Without I/O you’re kinda limited on the capabilities… so spend $100 more on something that has less? Then buy something else to add more?
Personally I don’t need dct control, like quite a few others here. 32x32 tables, ok, that’s cool, table switching works fine for most applications, but more res is better. Your points may be valid, but for most applications, not anything that is really necessary. Can you hook up a Ms3 and have bmw/dodge 8hp/DCTgen1/2 transmission control? Anything in software that the highest tier PRO model can do, the mini can do (and every software update is free, and the update cycle is very frequent, featuring massive value adding updates). I can go on, if you desire.
