Hello Tbrickers:

I've been a member since 2003 but I am not good at posting pictures of my beloved 740, so this is my thread about the car and its mods and to keep track of them.
But before the pics I have to thank 745T+ and Evan Sargent because withoud the aid of these amazing friends this project would have been impossible. Sourcing used and new parts for old Volvos in Chile is difficult.

The original engine was using some oil so I replaced it with a squirter NA block. The list of mods is the following:

B230F+T (block L con squirters de aceite)
15G turbo @ 14 psi
531 head,
IPD Turbo cam
3" DP
Getrag 265
IPD swaybars & Kilen lowering springs
Water/Alcohol Injection

Waiting to be installed is a G80 rear end.

The other car is a '67 123GT with a 144 rear axle, Solex 40/40 carbs, K cam, B20, breakerless ignition, M41

When I worked at Swedish imports we had a customer that lived in your city. He bought new/used parts from us as it was cheaper to pay for them plus shipping than go to your dealerships lol.

Loved your 744 and that's a damned good looking amazon

Thanks for your comments!

Well I've actually found that the local dealer marks-up by 500% sometimes!!! But the point is that they don't stock parts for Volvos older than '95-'97...

Hola!

Nice cars. I remember when John came over here and got a drive line from me and said he was sending it to his buddie in Chile. I see you made your ECU chippable. Is that chip working good for you?

Hi Simon, working good so far...a lot less pinging at the onset of boost. What I've noticed is a little bit of a flat spot at low rpms, then it wakes up.

Ya, they do look great, made me want a 7 for a second! What kind of grill is that on the 740? Didn't know it existed, it's not a 940 or 740 egg crate grill, instead it looks more like a 240 flathood grill, what in the world is going on there!?!!!!

It is just an eggcrate grill with a chrome surround.

ohh I didn't realize they made them like this for the 740, it looks great. Thought this car with that hood and all had the longer grill. It has more of a rounded shape like the 940 eggcrate grill.
