S/V/C Need Help Selecting a Filter

I am looking for a new filter to replace the one I installed in the boost line to my boost control solenoid on my S60. For about two years now I have had a small fuel filter in the boost signal line to keep carbon and dirt from the PVC system out of the boost valve. Before I installed this filter I was having a lot of problems with the boost control. I am running an aftermarket boost solenoid similar to what IPD sold for a while. The fuel filter worked well until this past winter, since then I find myself cleaning the valve because it starts sticking.
I think I need a better filter, something that will keep smaller particles out, any suggestions?
Thanks
Robert

I think it has a 3/16 or 1/4 inch boost line. Maybe the fuel filter I am using is not rated for the pressures it is seeing and is slowly falling apart.
Should I be using an air filter instead? Small amounts of oil are present in the boost line.
I need a small filter, a large filter causes lag in the boost control.

Perhaps it is time to stop burning crankcase vapors which add nothing positive to the intake charge?

How well-worn is the engine? They don't last like redblocks do.... Or my frenchie sixes!

Boost pressure flows thru the filter to the boost control valve, where it either goes to the air intake after the AMM, or it goes to the wastegate. The problem is the PVC system vents pre turbo and the boost signal is taken from the output of the turbo. The boost control valve is electronic and any dirt messes with it's operation. Stock this car runs 17.5 psi boost.

89,000 miles and does not burn oil. I installed the above filter before the car had 50,000 MILES. I am running Royal Purple oil.

I think I got the boost valve working well enough to work until I can get a new one shipped. I will put it back on the car and test drive it sunday.
