Need help with hydraulic lifters.

Hello,

I need advice on how to open up the lifters, I want to clean them inside, but Im not able to. I dont know how it has to be done.

Also, after cleaning them, do I have refill them with oil I guess? Or they do by themselfs?

Sorry for the dumb questions, but its my first time doing this.

The car is a 960 b204ft, 2L 16v

They should fill up on their own, but you can always just soak them in oil and let them fill up that way if you're concerned about starting the engine with them dry.

make sure they're lubed up when you re-install and just let it idle and sort itself out. shouldn't take long. I would not at all try and pre-fill them

Is there a reason not to fill them? I'm used to doing that on old V8 stuff - does it make a blockage or something?

you want them to pump up after installation otherwise it may bleed off compression if they end up too tight
