thats not new.
I was originally reluctant to host images for offtopic. However now i suspect we should have plenty of room and will eventually enable that

Hey Dana, any chance we can get per-user controls for forum functions? For example, some people might like it, but I personally do not like the how these xenforo forums always load right to a new messages in threads when you click on them to view them. This happens on any thread I have not seen before and jumps right to the last post. I wish I could turn that feature off. The forum will only display the first post once I click on mark all forums read.

Thank you.

Click on the date just under the partially-unread thread's title.
That should take you to post #1.

While browsing through the John V thread, I seem to have no permission when clicking images in posts. For example that image Harlard posted, when I click it, a new tab pops up with that error message, any idea why?

Because the thread started in a forum where embedded images were allowed... and then someone moved it to OT where they are not. I'll probably just have to enable embedded images for contributors in OT going forward but i was waiting till some of the rest of things settle and i know what kind of usage we have with this new system

It looks like the website automatically converts certain character strings into emojis. Is there any way to disable this? It makes it impossible to use my favorite smiley: colon, lowercase o, closing parentheses. It looks like this might be a site-wide thing because I don't see the option in my account settings, nor in the editor, and I noticed it converted my smiley from some of my pre-migration posts into an emoji.

@boostdemon looks like html is not working for embedding media in posts. Is this a fixable thing or will I have to Ctrl+H all of my build threads?
I was wondering about this too. Is there no way one can embed non-image media content with a direct link to it? The "approved sites" thing is pretty limiting.
