Normally, the "Lego" wheels (aka Cookie Cutter, etc) came with a cap that looked similar to the early 240 steel rim hubcaps. They also can use the small "V" caps used on the 242GT rims.

Anyway, updated link for the image of the Sirius rims, which were actually on my family's old beige '85 245DL:

Above photo taken by drturbo in June 2000...

Also, the old wheel page created by Evan Reisner: http://home.blarg.net/~volvo242gt/wheels.html

Jumpy,

No problem... I've slowly been updating his page as I've had time... Apparently, the Sirius rims were also known as Nova in some of the older Volvo parts books, then when the 15" 960 slanted spoke rims came out, they also used the name Nova for those. So, maybe referring to the Sirius wheels as both Sirius and "Nova 1.0" would work, and then just calling the 960 rims "Nova 2.0 or new Nova", would work.

Yeah... I suspect that's where all the confusion comes from with respect to the 10-spokers...

Cool, thanks, man...

Getting "Lego" wheels mounted with snow tires for my 740. I wonder if the Draco caps will fit?

Whatcha think?

<a href="http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/Volvo%20Wheels/?action=view&current=260LegoWheel.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/Volvo%20Wheels/260LegoWheel.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

I tried the 740 chrome 'Flying Saucer' trim from the 10 spokers,
and it fits into the Lego nicely but the tabs don't lock in.
By bending the tabs it would work.
I think the Draco trim is similar with a plastic face.

Hmm. These don't look like the same wheel to me. Yet they're referred to as such.

Can anyone clear this up?

I have a 1979 (printed in '78) UK 200 series accessories brochure which shows these 2 wheel designs.

The one on the left is the 'Exclusive' and the other the 'GT'.

The brochure also shows the 'Turbine'

And, this wheel which on here is listed as the 'Corona', the brochure lists as the 'Sunburst'.

It's my theory that this wheel only becomes the 'Corona' when fitted with the large centre cap.

Of course, I've been wrong before.... :)

thanks for the info, jonah! the two wheels are now properly identified, and that rare 'turbine' model have been added, never seen that one before.

im gonna wait for a second opinion on the corona, as it may well be named differently in europe than america. any info anyone?

760 sirius wheels are way lighter than virgos, 32lbs with rubber instead of 36.2 only 15lbs wheel alone

The funny thing is being alloy virgo on yoko avid weighs 1lb more than steelie on winter rubber
