Nick's diesel 245 project

Fun! Glad to see Josh converted another person to black smoke. :)

If only that car goes to diesel. Nick said he decided not to swap to the soot option, and the last I heard, more likely a 16V on a B230f with a goal of 200hp, probably RWHP not crank hp. Should be interesting.

So far, that's the theory.

I'm still going to play with a Mercedes diesel since they're dirt cheap but it be in a chassis that came with one from the factory. That's a ways out, however, since I'd much rather focus on developing engine management strategies for the 16v stuff.

USPS brought me something today:

Testing some ideas on the bench:

Stay tuned, this project will be fun.

It's OK. I'd be pissed too if this cheap car was faster than yours. [/lame apeks]

At least it will help reduce boundary layer.

and kill latent heat inductance as well. Be sure to flow match all the fins for optimum transference.

Currently getting made at the board house. Should see it in 2 weeks.

That^ means absolutely nothing to me, I don't electronic stuff, but I'm diggin an na16v wagon.
Btw, you should just rtv a sheet of polycarbonate over the reflector. It would look SLIGHTLY less ghetto and hopefully work just as well. The lexus didn't have refractors in it's lense did it? If it didn't they shouldn't be needed at all :-P

It's an injector / ignition driver board to support full sequential operation from MS.

I try to keep the headlights looking as stock as possible, refractor 2.0 will come soon. Ghetto does not bother me, the car is pretty ghetto as it sits.

B&G V2.2 Board to hold the processor and sensor inputs
MSII Processor with MS2/E Sequential firmware
My driver board for the ignition, injector, and high current drivers

Driver board poulated! Time to wire it up to the MS board and put it in a case. Then time to start acquiring the stuffs to make the wiring harness.

All wired up to the MS, ready for testing. This is the finished product:

Four injectors, operating independently of each other! Idle valve works and all four ignition channels fire the coils!

End plates fabbed for the case. Had to use a larger case since the driver board will not fit with the MS board in the standard size case.

ALL DONE!

Now time to develop the cam/crank sensor solution and acquire the materials to make the wiring harness.
