Wow. That's impressive. One thing I have seen is alot of time failures like that is the event that caused the main failure happens earlier and takes some cycles to propagate to something like this.
That’s what I told him as well, I’d guess it’s a previous injury that finally let go.
Bummer but also kind of a badge of honor for pushing it a lot further than most.
Yeah, I'm sure that's what it was. I dug a little bit and found the cylinder 1 spark plug is toast; cylinder 1 rod or piston likely failed. It's gonna be bad when I open it up.
Well, if anyone wants some redblock performance parts I think I'm going to part it out and swap in a non redblock. I worry this will keep happening with the power I'm looking for. Cylinder 1 of the head is probably cooked, but might be weldable and the spark plug threads can surely be fixed. We'll see. Here's a quick list of stuff I can think of:
NIW manifold
Ported KL racing manifold
Domiworks 8HP adapter kit
RSI tubular manifold with provisions for EGT and EMAP
Baffled/enlarged oil pan
ATI crank damper and serpentine pulley setup (lightly used lol)
Mil spec wiring harness (I can help you convert it to fit your ECU. It's pinned to fit my Motec, but that's easily changeable)
ASS engine mounts
If you want info about anything on my car or want everything to support a big power 8v (
