1. Two exhaust manifold studs missing. All studs and gaskets replaced.

2. Fuel leak due to a PO MacGuyvering a fix - hole caused by contact with driveshaft U-joint.. Fuel line replaced and rerouted.

3. Now my turbo has gone. As far as I know, the bearings went. Left me stranded 1.5hours from home.

Thoughts on #3? Should I look for a 90+ manifold+turbo? Or try to repair this one?

If I find a 90+, will I have to modify my downpipe/flange? I'm kind of on the cheap, and it's kind of an emergency (again)

From my understanding, you will need everything. Including manifold, turbo, oil line, coolant lines, and oil return pipe. As far as I know the downpipe is the same. Make sure that you get everything when you get your turbo.

So what would I need to re-route, in terms of charge piping and/or vacuum lines?

every thing bolts up.. its just that the turbo from the 90+ is different then what you have unless you have a 13-c already...more then likey if its not a 90's you dont have a 13-c turbo so you will need to get all the hard ware for it oil line, drain tube you should be fine on the water lines.

i had 4 studs missing and the rest loose almost backed almost off the stud threads when i bought my car....

LOL ended up one stud was broken inside :(

Thankfully (in a sense?) the exhaust mani studs were just missing. Tapped the holes to get any carbon buildup out and replaced the set.

Well look, it's an older volvo. You've got to keep up with that stuff man, don't be surprised when parts go out.

Ask anyone on this board, it's always one thing after another.

I know it was a rant at first; I was just frustrated.

I realize these are older cars. Don't even get me started on how I felt driving 1400km with no heat in -10c weather. :D
