Pontiac GTA Wheels

so back to trying to run a zero offset squared.

I'm maintaining a complete OEM look, I'm not even lowered.

"Corey" posted he's running 20mm adapters up front with a 0 offset.

what will be the result if I run a 19 or 20mm adapter on the rear with OEM suspension out back?

I *do not* want a mexi-stance poke look. ideally I'd like to run the fattest tire possible, so I can make good use of the LS I recently swapped in...

With a stock suspension and a 19mm adapter, I don’t see a need to roll the lips due to height being very high. No with that being said, fattest tires will add to the reduction of fender to tire gap reducing your distance when squatting the rear and cornering.

Fact:
19mm will tuck the rear fender with it rolled and will hit the inner lips if not rolled during hard bumps with a subpar shock absorber.
19mm or more will require grinding threads off the stock lugs.
19mm with 0offset will give you -19 ET. Find an online calculator and see the difference in stock and setup you are inquiring about.

Your goals are achievable but you always have to prep lab and know there are chances you may need to modify something along the way.

Good luck!

Bump...

So what is the biggest tire someone put on GTA wheels?
I currently have 1 1/4 spacers and 225/60r16 tire. I have about 1/8th of a inch between the tire and wheelwell.

I have some 225/50's I will be mounting up soon. I have a set of 15mm adapters and 20mm adapters so I will see what works. Won't be nearly as low I am now but I will be going as low as possible without rub. 0 offset will be out back and 16 up front.

I was looking at some 235/50/16. My car isn't lowered at all.

So jealous of you USA guys..don't care what I would have to do to fit GTA wheels on my 140...hard to come by on this side of the pond.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but i want to put these wheels on my 92 244 gl, what exactly do I need?

Wheel spacer?
Wheel Adapters?
Both?

And what size wheel adapters do I have to have made to convert the 5X108 to the size the gta wheels use?

Sorry first time dealing with anything like this and I'm out of my depth

This thread is the best bet for finding info on it, props for searching and finding it. Reading up on wheel adapters will be helpful before throwing down money on something others say is right without knowing what you're actually buying.

Your looking for adapters that are

To

The wheels have a
70.3mm center bore and your car has a 65.1mm center bore.

Thickness depends on how low your car is, desired tire size, and how much you want to modify the inner/outer fender (look it up before your try to roll them) from:

To
1" (25.4mm)

Be aware that with thin adapters the studs will protrude into the wheel so you'll have to
cut them down
and as a tip you should
Make sure when you cut the studs to put an open ended lug nut on then turned down below your mark so that when you take said lug nut off you chase the threads clean

Also be aware their are
et16 and et0
GTA wheels, as they where front and back pairs on the Pontiacs

Based on the info on this thread and my own research on wheel adapters I was able to get GTA wheels on my 242 without issue

Thanks for the help! Which gta wheels did you end up getting? The front or rears?
So I've got to get hubcentric wheel adapters, wheel spacers and I may have to cut the lugs, which is all fine but your look is the exact look I'm going for so I'm wondering if you had to roll the fenders, would like to follow as closely to your build as possible

You need wheel adapters. Wheel spacers are the same thing but don?t change the bolt pattern, they just push the wheels out more. You?ll need to cut your studs a little if the adapters are thinner than 25(?)mm. You?ll probably have to roll your fenders either way since your offsets are going to be in the negative (wheels further out). If you have four front GTA wheels that would help a bit.

I know this 244 ran 205/50/16 and I?m pretty sure it had 15mm adapters or whatever the thinnest that they?ll make is.

I have 19mm adapters with front GTA wheels (0mm offset before adapters, -19mm after) on the rear of the car and rear GTA wheels (16mm before, -3mm after) on the front. The front arches are untouched but the rear inner fenders are pretty dramatically cut out. 205/50r16 tires and BNE-DIY shortened housing coil overs w/10" 400lb springs up front, 11' 250lb rear springs with adjusters (unless I changed it and forgot).

You'll want to decide on ride height, tire size, adapter thickness and wheel offset together for the easiest time (I did none of this and wasted a bunch of time/money). Really I'd recommend learning about wheel specs and whatnot first before simply reading what has been done before and trying to copy it. Once you have a good understanding of stuff it's a lot easier to interpret various setups and see what you do and don't want in a particular setup.

On the struts, did you just get them cut and threaded? What inserts are you using with the 400# springs? I'm cutting 740 tubes to put on a corolla, 3" shorter with saab 900 inserts.
