So, I think my head gasket is on its way out..??

Here are my symptoms;

- recently fixed my breather box from a split at the seams, found a small amount of milky oil/water residue inside.

- small amount of milky residue on oil filler cap, and after a engine shut down there steam/smoke coming out of valve cover. Also smells sweet. Cannot see any milky oil inside tho.

- air pressure in coolant system, remove coolant tank cap and air hisses out. Maybe just vapor locked.

-while engine is running, pull dip stick out and steam/smoke comes out. Engine compression was 175-170 psi all cylinders couple weeks ago.

- on cold starts it runs chunky for a few mins then rev it up and clears out. And runs fine.
Sounds like it's missin real bad then it clears up.

- ran it today and this was the first time it had steam/smoke coming out of tailpipe and smelt sweet. but once warmed up the smoke stopped..? Engine runs normal temp.

- oily water was seeping out from turbo internal wastegate flange but only on the cold startup and once warm it stopped seeping from flange.

These symptoms have been goin on for 5-6 months and slowly getting worst. I don't drive it much maybe couple times a month, then sits in Storage.

Any advice, ideas, or comments? I'm leaning towards a headgasket but would like to heard what others think before I start rippin and tearing!

Thanks!!

The milky build up is from short trips and not running it often. Moisture in the engine does not burn off on short trips. Clean the oil cap and take it for a long drive to see if it returns.

Pull the O2 sensor.
If it's green, there's no question.

A head gasket is just a little bit more work then a thorough stage zero.
