760 Priming a turbo after install

I've installed my replacement turbo. I just need to remove the fuel pump fuses and disconnect the ign coil from the distributor to prime/crank, correct?

Fuses 1 and 11?

Yes.

Took me 20 seconds to crank before there is oil coming out from the oil return line.

I do just that, and loosen the banjo bolt (T3 has a two bolt flange), and crank the engine with spark and fuel disconnected, as you have done. When I have I nice mess at the supply side of the turbo, I tighten the bolt and re-connect the fuel and spark wires.

Anyone recommend the 3x10sec method that the Haynes manual recommends?

I use an oil can to fill the turbo with oil. Then I connect it up and run it.

this.plus drop or two in plug holes.
then prime via disconnect ign and pump relay. crank for 3,5sec bursts

....different scenario if engine is new and needs to be primed.

Well, I started it up tonight after priming. I'm leaking oil somewhere (thinking oil drain), but I'm not building any boost. Would a failed CBV cause this? It's the old valve I had in there when the old turbo went (and everything was full of oil)
