..S60 2.4T if there a good reliable car...
Previous owner(s) determines the essence of that question. If maintenance was performed, and they were "soft peddled" drivers, chances are, just routine stuff (e.g., change timing belt, etc) to fix on the road ahead.
Last two vehicles I bought, cost me $150.00 each (84 Volvo & 88 Beretta), and both were headed to Junk Yard until I came along. Having mechanical skills, Beretta has 75,000 plus miles on it since I bought it, and running fine....84 Volvo some 7,500 miles on it since I bought it, and running fine now.
I prefer vehicles with mostly "over the road" miles...finding say a 1995 vehicle with 50,000 miles on it suggests to me a vehicle driven mostly in town (Start & Stop driving)...and I'd be leary about buying one, unless it was for the body.
One can always check with automatic transmission shops to see if there is a history (problems), and ask around shops on motor problems; I know nothing of these motors or transmissions, but I assume they were good quality, if owner took care of them.
