I went to start up my s60r and put key in and turn to on position, dash lights turned on, then everything shut off. no power, no dash lights, key fob unlock/lock doesn't work, nothing electrical works except the floor lights stay on and won't shut off even when i lock the car. i checked the fuses in engine bay, looks good. I tried my spare key and still the same thing, nothing.. you guys have any ideas??? I wonder if its a dead battery..?

thanks!!

NO, don't send it without checking the main fuse box under the hood. Check the main terminal connection in the fuse box. They get loose, melt the post out of the fuse box. Basically the front jump-start point. Big junction point.

Flip up that tab.

Hm. That's bad juju, I had that same problem last year with my V70. I chased it for HOURS, and finally touched that post after finally starting it... cooked my fingertip.

Came out to be a bundle of wires in coming from the battery that goes up into the drivers side fender well were heavily corroded, they had to cut the section out and replace.! volvo is alive now!
