960 Seat belt latch broke?!

Weirdest thing happened - went driving across today and when we were done at one store, I tried putting my seat belt in the latch but I noticed the warning ding relay wouldn't hush. Tried relocking the belt when I realized that, wait a second, my seat belt won't latch! Had to pull the bell relay and drive without my belt for the first time, felt so weird!

I looked inside, couldn't see anything obstructing the clip from going in. Is this a common thing? Anyway to fix the catch itself? I see new ones are only $70, not bad, but that'll be a couple weeks before it comes in.

I never dreamed these could break!

Well I am missing a dime from my wallet (not kidding) so it may have been a freak accident.... And dime would fit in that slot and then get shoved in.

I'll probably be taking it apart tomorrow to see what I can see. Can't hurt to order spares I guess... I wonder how long Volvo will continue to have/produce safety related stuff?
