My brother Karl and I were at the ecology yard in Chula Vista, CA the other day pulling a bunch of 960 stuff. I was walking through the volvo section and spotted this choice specimen of race car engineering:

No pictures of the whole car, this is the best part. It was painted matte black with a bunch of "drift" type decals. The roll bar was the best part of the whole package.

Yup, thats a roof rack acting as a harness bar. The welds were so incredibly boogered and ugly. I'm fairly certain the hoop is made from fence pipe.

This is the rear support bar going to the wheel well. It's tacked onto the inner quarter sheetmetal, but nowhere else.

Main hoop on the floor. It's two coupons of 1/8" sheet kind of tacked/boogered together. Very safe and obviously well thought out.
For anyone in the socal area, there is a complete 16 valve 740, a couple of flathoods, a bunch of complete 740 turbos etc.
