Stalls when put in gear when wet, 93 volvo

Hi, My 93 240 stalls at times, when i put in gear. Only after a hard rain. Will idle fine, but when I put in Drive or Reverse, it shakes and stalls out. I have to let it idle for awhile, then it seems to pull out it. Any ideas, if it needed plug wires, it wouldn't idle when wet, correct?
