Stuck valve

On my 1993 850, it has almost always made the ticking sound when I start it after it sitting for a couple days, and usually goes away after 30 seconds to a minute. Today I started it, and the ticking sound stayed (I ran it for like 20 minutes). It got up to operating temperature, and it is still making the sound. So I am assuming it has to be either a valve stuck slightly open, or one of the hydraulic valve adjusters is really stuck (I am not sure how the hydraulic valve setup works on these, as I have never seen one apart). Any ideas as to what it could be. It has plenty of oil, and the oil light turns off.

The hydraulic lifters. Running synthetic oil will help keep them clean and they will pump up easier when they are clean. After the engine has warmed up, I hold the RPM's at 2500 to 3000 for about 5 minutes. If they are still ticking than I increase the RPM's about 1000 for 5 minutes. They should eventually pump up and quit ticking.
