Picked this up a few weeks ago  My friend thought the "Yellow" cab sign was funny...

What's the story on it? Where from? Miles, mods etc? Always interested in another yellow wagon story!

It has been parked for a few years or more, not sure on the total time. Tags are from 2008. Its from Massachusetts, but was bought new from Colorado. The car was modified with Stop-Techs, R rears, coil overs, etc. No engine mods discovered so far except exhaust. I have returned the suspension and exhaust to original T5R configuration. I am currently rehabing the engine. My goal is to try to make it as original as I can afford. Came with ton of parts. I will be listing all the parts I have taken off soon.

Glad to see it's finally going back together! Been sitting for WAAY too long. :)

I agree that it is nice to see one that has been sitting get put back together. Let me know what you have because I am always looking for parts for my 2 wagons. I'm really jealous of the yellow spoiler - have a black one on my yellow wagon right now that I need to get painted.

That was a VS members car. Good guy, just didn't have time to dedicate to finish it. He kept the car pretty mint when it was out here. How much did you end up picking it up for if you don't mind me asking

also, nice shop

You got Peters car. Nice. He was asking $15,000 for it in peices, Travis.

Edit: Actually, I don't think this is Peters car. I don't see the wheel arch mods. Also peter had the engine ripped down and was installed pistons, rods, etc

How the car was shipped:
Body work done to front and rear fenders to allow for clearance of Tritons/Pegs and coilovers (Kaplhenke coilovers)
V70R seats (F+R)
StopTech front brakes
V70R Brembo rear brakes
Currently has Pegs on it (have a set of Tritons with GoodYear GSD F1 tires at home)
IPD sway bars

Was sent to Doug to have the following done
Full engine build with Ball Bearing turbo, Pistons, Rods, NA cams, etc. (goal of 400-450 hp)
M56H Manual tranny swap with Quaife LSD (matching burled walnut shift knob)

Engine was completely stripped and machined to fit Oversized S60R pistons and custom rods (IIRC). The wiring was not supposed to be hacked except for the manual tranny setup (AT wiring harness), but I'll get the details from Doug on that, too.

He told me the shortblock was done the last time he updated me on the engine. I don't know if he actually got the entire setup in the car or not. I doubt he's gotten to the point of tuning it, so there will be some finishing on your part.

Peter

This is Peter's car. The wheel arch mods are hard to see as they are well done. Easily cleared the 18" with coil overs. The built engine was never installed. Currently has original engine based on my research. The other engine came with the car in pieces. The machine work has been done, but it is unassembled. The parts box came with a full 5speed conversion, LSD, Drop in intercooler, 2 sets of H beam rods, cams, plus tons of other kewl stuff.

what kind of exhaust did you remove?

Home made 3" downpipe welded to original straight flange. I think it was an Eurosport tuning setup at some point as it has an EST chrome oval tip, EST muffler, and 2.5 piping. There is a small race type cat on it. It was all welded from front to rear with no removable joints, so I had to cut it from the car in two places. Could easily be welded back up. Not pretty, but it worked. I will part with it for $75 if you interested.

Cool. I was really close to buying the car, but decided the cost of shipping to east coast+asking price wasn't worth it. The wheel arches are nice, but the way they lined up with the front bumper was super annoying. I would have had to do them over. You got a great car, congrats!

Yellow ones are RARE.

I occasionally still see the yellow T5R wagon a kid at my high school was driving, his parents car.

Last I saw it, it was dented with mismatched wheels :/ Sad...tried to follow it in traffic but too much traffic to get up to it.
