This is Automotive "porn"!!!....not mine

it's not the custom-ness, I just can't stand colored anodized stuff. silver, black or gray just looks soo much sexier imho. Too bad you can't get AN fittings in that color...

Looks good. More info would be cool :)

Interesting throttle body and length choice for the intake runners. Roller throttle body!? Never heard of such thing, does it promote better flow distribution as opposed to the throttle plate!?

Short runners = higher RPM power I thought, though with small turbos they would run out of steam rather quickly. Guessing based on the size of the turbos due to the uncertainty there.

take care

Zero restriction at WOT. No throttle blade and shaft to get in the way.

LOL. ya. too bad you can get them silver. Now you have really proven you are lost somewhere in space. For all of your expansive insight on custom fabrication, you of all people ought to know nickel plated an fittings are about as common as dirt outside of the ricer scene. Heck, check the summit catalogue. They're about as pedestrian as it gets.

Gotta check out the vid, definately my vote for Volvo engine of the year. Drooling and only 2 mins in.

thanks.
Makes sense. That is what I figured, just my brain didnt want to put 2 and 2 together to figure it out earlier.

I wonder how it would affect part throttle operation though. I would imagine the velocity is a bit lower as it would have to roll over inner portion as opposed to easily going around the throttle plate.

The video is cool! The file size is a bit large but the quality is amazing! The car on the otherhand, is out of control :)

Barrel throttles aren't really good at part throttle openings, we stopped using them on our RC car nitro motors a while ago and started using slide carbs for that very reason, although from what I have read slide carbs on a fullsize car aren't a good idea, they tend to jamb quite easily, which at full throttle could be a problem!

Hilmersson did slide throttle on a fullsize car...

just sick...

Doesn't the M3 use slide throttle bodies? I'd imagine it would add a bit of weight.

it just uses traditional butterfly ITB's, definately the way to go for a street car which will be seeing alot of time at part-throttle.

and the new corvette would be alot cooler if it was a flat-crank engine

That's as smart as one friend I have, that bought some $200 throttle plate for his Kawa 125CC dirt-bike, to improve power at part-throttle.....:???: WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO GIVING IT MORE THROTTLE???

Everybody wants power at WOT, if you don't, go buy yourself a Toyota Yaris.
