I've recently upgraded to led lighting. I am trying to sort out the hyper flash. I have can bus style bulbs however it still does this. Did alittle sniffing around and found a compatible led flasher (little black box with 3 prongs) but I cannot seem to locate the stock one.

Ok. Will you explain why when it's got the 4 ways on.. it will flash at a normal rate. But once the turn signal is applied it will hyperflash.. is it possible I'm stuck either getting load plugs for the wire?

No idea. People on Volvospeed have posted about adding resistors to the circuit to solve the fast flashing, so if load plugs serve a similar function you might have to get some.

In older cars, changing the resistance of the circuit would change the time constant. This meant when an bulb went out the circuit would flash the other bulb faster.

Sometime in the 80s most manufacturers switched to digital control for the flasher timing. However, people were used to the flasher rate increasing when a bulb was out, so on the digital flashers it was included as a feature.

I run resistors on mine fwiw. I took apart my flasher and decided that it's not worth trying to defeat the load sensing portion of the circuit.
