Update on S60R brakes *holy ****!*

Not having looked at my stock-ish brakes lately, so going off memory here:

Wouldn't it be feasible to rotate the calipers forward/backward if strut tube clearance is a problem? I mean, if the mounting brackets have to be made from scratch anyway, why not position them so there is no modification to the actual calipers in the first place? The only exception I can see to this is if the clearance issue involves clearances at the base, where it bolts up--then I imagine no matter where you locate it along the circumfrence it'll need some milling.....

I think just about anything is possible. When I was at the Davis meet in May I talked to a guy there who had fitted Porsche calipers to his 850R. They looked very nice. He owned a machine shop and says he went through numerous prototypes before he got it right. Once he finally got the bracket to fit correctly, machined from aluminum, he then found a resonant vibration under braking that he couldn't cure. After redesigning again and machining them out of steel, he finally had brackets that worked. Total prototypes: 10! The point of this is that it might take some trial and error to find out. Someone's got to be the Guinea pig.
