V cam

Bit more top end but less fun down low when i had one in my old 740 turbo (b230et). The A cam really did every thing i wanted from 2000 to 5800rpm in a standard engine with just a chip and raised boost

Thank guys for the feedback. I have the possibility of getting one for free to replace my A cam, I just don't want to change a cam to find out it wasn't a real improvement, specially in the midrange.

If you have an adjustable cam gear on the V, you might be able to get some of the low end back.

V cam installed

I'm running the V cam advanced 2 degrees and it is a definitive inprovement over the A cam. It has a wide powerbant to the redline, same low end torque as the A cam and smooth idle unlike the A cam. It pulls like the MVP Turbo cam I had in the same engine but the V cam is quiet as opposite to the MVP one.

did you reshim when fitting the V cam?

You pretty much have to with any cam swap because of the different wear between your old cam and the cam you will be throwing in there. Even if it is new you will probably have to re-shim it.

Edit: didn't read your post correctly, apologies. *kicksself*
