I have the parts for the flame box replacement en route. What I need is a local person who has the ability to help me with this. Sadly I don't have a huge selection of tools.

This was one of the few things I paid 80 bucks to have done at an independent shop. I bought the parts, but that is probably the hardest thing to get to on the whole car (well, until I fix the oil leak on the rear of the motor on mine this weekend).

Hopefully there is someone on the forum that is good at this and local. You only need I think a 13mm wrench and arms like rubberman.

No shop is going to replace the PCV system in an 850 for $80-the intake manifold needs to come off to replace the breather box and hoses. I apologize if it seems like I'm jumping down your throat, considering the OP didn't specify the model of car this work would be done to, but there have been a few threads about this already.

Hopefully someone is willing to help you out man.

Oh I had no idea it was an 850. I am pretty new here and always think this is kind of 700/900 series back kind of place.

My bad.

Yup. and as I stated in his other identical thread, it's not a hard job to do at all. Just requires a few hours of time. If he can bake cookies, he can follow the instructions to replace it. Set aside 4 hours (much more than is needed) and save yourself a few hundred bucks.

Here is a great video showing the job on an 850. Definitely some work, although of course this guy makes it look easy. (Which is how you know he knows what he's doing.) There are also a bunch of edits, so it definitely takes longer than the 19 minutes of the video. :)

Most own other Volvos. After 98, Folvo, Now Cholvo. but yes intake manifold needs to come off. So need gaskets too.
