Wiring Harness Help

I just spent the day pulling my old dry rotted wiring harness on my 240tic. Everything was going smoothly until I got to the branch that goes under the block to the alternator. I've got 4 wires (red, red, black, and green). The heavy gauge red to the alternator was obvious, but I'm not sure about the others. The old harness isn't much guidance since the shielding was rotting off. Anybody know which wire goes where?

Black and green go to the oil pressure sender unit just forward of the oil filter and just behind the alternator. Big spade on the big terminal, small on the small one.

Big red goes to + terminal on alternator and don't forget the ground strap for the alternator.

Small red wire goes to the exciter terminal on back of alternator, called the 61/B+ terminal or something like that.

Thanks for the info. I try that out tomorrow PM after work.

Where does the ground strap go? When I was pulling the harness, there was an extra snippet of wire on the + terminal on the alternator, but I could not find the other end.

alternator

The ground strap for the alternator attaches to one of the studs that hold the case of the alternator together. One of the studs is longer and uses an extra 8mm size nut to hold the wire on. It goes from there to the bracket bolt on the engine. It's usually blue if there are some pieces of it's insulation left.
