Top fuel uses a multi-plate centrifugal clutch and one gear. Powerglides aren’t even used in Top Alcohol classes anymore. A lot of the auto drag stuff has shifted to 3 or 4spd autos because they’re faster. You’ll find powerglides in the slower classes that are based more around a “stock” car, or in historic/vintage drag cars.Top Fuel Dragster still use them.

You want to prove me wrong?
Power glides have a time and a place outside of the classic car scene, but it’s a few very niche areas where they work better than a manual or an auto trans with more gears. Mostly in race cars where you don’t shift when up to race pace, but need a lower gear for starting out. Super common in dirt circle track racing, but they don’t use a torque converter.
