So whats the best way to put pegs on a 940?
Bolt on spacers, spacer with longer studs, or later fwd offset 960 hubs?

Just got a new to me 940. Plans are pegs, s60r brakes and new suspension

Are 1" deep enough? Pegs (assuming he's looking at 18" not 17" Pegs) are ET45 - same as my Advanti 18x8" wheels - I need 1.25" (hub centric) for those to have a safe margin off the strut tube on the 740.

This was 1" spacing (test)

I bought these, had the inner bore turned to match the 740 hub, and added spacer rings to match the aftermarket wheel bore.

Also, Pegs are very heavy & bend pretty easily. I ran both 17 & 18" versions years back on my old wagon. If you live anywhere with bad roads, not a great idea.

Unfortunately It's not just the hubs that are different. The entire front suspension for 1995+ 960s switched to FWD P80 style suspension. The control arm body attachment points are different so you can't easily swap the entire suspension onto a 940/early 960. I'm not sure whether the hubs themselves interchange but they probably don't and I don't think they're the reason the offset is different. Either way though spacers will definitely be the easiest way to go. I know someone with 17" Pegs on his 940 wagon and with spacers they fit without any modifications to the body
