Boosted on a budget

I sat on the switches and dropped the front hit a bump and heard a loud bang all at the same time. Normally I drive with the car raised almost stock height while on the interstate. I just accidentally lowered it. Good thing I do t lay frame in the front. So far there are no leaks.

I'm going to make my skid plate this weekend. It should help some. One day I'll figure out how to raise the engine an inch

I have a really big stop sign and it's really thick. I'm not sure if it's a normal size sign but it doesn't look normal. If I can find a metal company here I will make something better but so far this should do what I need it to do.

There's tons of busted up road closed signs around the corner from my house on the side of the road if I could get a few it should make a pretty sweet ghetto skid plate.

Just make it out of your own hood.

Got under the car to make the skid plate only to find a ton of oil all over everything...Now recently my oil return line blew off and caused a mess. I spent a whole day and 6 cans of cleaner cleaning it to new so this was shocking.
I knew the car left a spot of oil here and there but this was really bad. I cleaned everything off using brake cleaner and some rags (don't use Oreilly's brand if you like your paint!! I have never had issues with any other brands but this one ate all my paint off of everything like air craft stripper would :-(). Once everything was clean, I ran the car to see where the leaks were. Bingo. I found it. I have never had any luck using these dumb ass AN fittings. The fittings going from the block off the Volvo sandwich plate were leaking. The fittings coming off the aftermarket remote filter were leaking as well. They were leaking about 4 drops every 20 seconds or so... Not good.
When I first put the fittings on, I overtightened them and they leaked and were ruined. I went out and bought all new fittings (male and female side Russell fittings), and this time I "snugged them" like they suggest.

Now here we are. Apparently these type of fittings do not like me because it leaked really bad. So, I re-snugged them today a little tighter thinking maybe my fear of over-tightening them caused me to not tighten them enough...Nope, still leaks. Im fed up with these fittings. I am going to go back old school Mercedes style hose clamps. This is some bull ****.

So after all that, I still didn't get around to making my stop sign plate, but I have this friend who is going to get me some road signs he saw around the corner from my place ;-) Then its onto some ghettofab work.

RWC said you could have the sign from his garage.

I did a little something over the weekend. I got tired of not being able to see my instrument panel since I had the air ride gauges on the steering column. I knew it was a temporary install until I made the A pillar pods. I started to make the A pillar pods using a dual pod that was given to me from Adam (RasAdam_JAHMEN), I ended up giving up. I am no good at fiberglassing. So, I decided to go a different route.

Here is what I started with before (made from some PVC pipe):

It didnt look too bad for what it was.

So I found that a sheet rock mixing tray has a pretty decent thickness and texture that can kind of blend in with the dash:

Took the panel out. Cut out a piece:

Took the gauges apart and masked up what I wanted to view:

Cut out the section:

I Hot glued the screens to the back. Didnt get pictures of that since it was messy looking. This picture really shows the fact the textures do not match but from a distance its not too bad. I will end up getting another dash panel to cut out for an exact match but for now this will do:

Crappy cell pics. Light is glaring into the phone making it look really bright but its really nice to view at night:
