Because I don't have any fun updates! Car runs, drives, stops, gets dirty, makes me cry when I see it dirty and damaged. Right now it's very dirty.
Here's an update:
-I still need to get the paint buffed.
-I still need to get the window surrounds and shade trim under the windows repainted.
-I still need to build a new header and/or build larger, new secondary pipes to properly match the engine I want it to be.
-I still need to determine which camshaft I'm going to create or buy to run.
-I still need to do something about a proper flowing intake manifold -currently on the fence about B21F in unmodified form with a larger throttle body and maybe the 90 degree adapter setup or modified with a throttle body on the front of the plenum instead of underneath.
-I still need to stiffen up the suspension, be it through coil-overs or just having the current struts and shocks revalved(Bilstein HDs). I like having a factory setup, though.
XXX meet last month:
Working on the car is just a low priority these days... Girlfriend, General Leif Chumpcar build/racing, Beige Bomber('87 244 DD), friends/family, etc... And I'm not flush with cash, as I'll be headed to Germany later this year for a wedding and will also be heading to the Nuerburgring to rent a track prepped BRZ or Scirocco to beat the piss out of around the track(not cheap). Can't wait for that!

Some recent tinkering/troubles with the car were the transmission has been intermittently slightly crunchy when going into 5th gear ever since it was installed in 2009. While on a trip fully loaded a couple hours away with 3/4 other people in the car, a snap ring inside the trans failed and made it almost impossible to use 1st and 2nd gear. So, the trans was pulled and rebuilt by using the best of mine and the best of Harald's Uberhoopt transmission to make something good. A few months later I got the trans back, a few months after that, I got the trans put back into the car, a couple weeks and a trackday later, the car started puking oil from the back and the clutch started slipping. One of the rear main seal housing cover's bolts had backed out and lubing everything back there! Damnit. Out came the trans again. Just put back together this past week.
New brakes for the spur of the moment, Winter Warrior track day at the Ridge Motorsports park(AWESOME event put on by Turn 2 Lapping for only $150!). My little brother got his first experience of REAL track racing this day. He started out slow but picked up speed and did pretty damn well for such a demanding track, driving a manual, driving amongst GTRs, Porsches, EVOs, etc...
Cryo treated rotors, OE pads, Super Blue fluid(botched the bleed though) and some quickie ducts. Pads stunk on the track, pedal got squishy-ER(air in system) at times, but were always there when I needed them.
Couldn't run the RWD wheels without using my FWD adapters, though, as they now come into contact with the Kaplhenke roll correction adapters because I'm using the stock steering setting. With the quicker steering options, it didn't matter, but here it did. Boo for driving feel, yay for "fitment".
Used up my tires:
Oh, also, the distributor cap/rotor exploded randomly on me a few months ago. Luckily, I was only about a mile away from home and Pat was around to save the day by bringing me the cap/rotor from the BB that was at home.
Right now I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to get it through DEQ. Maybe with new EV6 injectors that can help combustion efficiency at idle? Maybe pulling the cylinder head and putting a thinner headgasket on it in addition to taking a look at what the head actually flows and maybe some further port work? I have the ENEM K13 in it and it doesn't want to pass, even with 1/3 tank of E85 which helped me two years ago. Last year I had the H cam in it and set up with loose clearances, the car SQUEAKED by then, but didn't this time(clearances aren't as loose and the cam is larger).
