VIN: 2424L1138026 isnt in Switzerland, its in Sweden.
I have some more VINS from sweden:
1978 2.1L off the road since 1995, VIN: 2424L1135755
1979 2.3L off the road since 2000, VIN: 2428M1147749
Consider 4 more GTs lost in sweden. I have seen them, but the I didnt get the identification plate, so no VIN from them.
Consider this 242GT lost. Dont have the VIN, saved it from a Facebook post. Judging by the mirrors it should be a 1980 model. Junkyard in the USA

And this is my newest project, a 1977 242GT 2.1L with 190k km. Stood since 1992 in the castle parking space of a millionaire.

^Is the block still a B23, or did they just swap in a B21A or a B21E from the 244 that everything seems to have come from?
Good question. The engine number isn't really visible, so an answer will require more investigation. The PO has plugged the K-Jet injector holes, so the head has likely been sourced from a B21E.
AFAIK, OZ market GTs got the 405 head with high compression B23E K-Jet engines and an H cam.
Volvo did finally improve the engine part number engraving in 1983, when they started using a dot matrix, instead of punching thin numbers into the side of the block, just below the head.
LS swap time, sounds like. Since it's already kinda bastardized, might as well join the LS crowd...
Finally was able to travel to sweden and photograph the lost GTs

I have photographs from 2016 from a friend which shows the cars still in saveable condition, but now unfortunately they are all completely destroyed by vandals.
